Can I use lowercase letters in my words?

No. Words must be in all uppercase letters. You don’t have to hold down the Shift key while you type; if you type “cat” as your word, EclipseCrossword will automatically convert it to “CAT”.

You can, of course, use lowercase letters in your clues.
